Initial Situation

Our customer, a leading energy supplier, offers commercial customers a broad portfolio of solutions in the field of building automation and control. The available technological components provide significant energy saving potentials for private households, as well as an increase in comfort and security. Against this background, our customer was planning to develop an offer concept for private customers in order to be able to provide them with a comprehensive range of solutions and attractive services in the smart home sector.

During an internal brainstorming session, the first key points for such an offer concept were developed. The focus was on the technical conception of the offer.

GP+S Consulting was commissioned to further detail the existing considerations, to enrich them with available market and competitive data and to prepare a rough product concept. This concept was supplemented by GP+S Consulting with a profitability analysis from the end customer’s point of view. Finally, a decision basis was provided to top management to coordinate further steps for product development.
